Hello Wonderful Blackwell Families and Friends,
We are full of cheer here at Blackwell! The third and fourth grade concert/art show left all that attended in a gleeful mood. Thank you to Mr. Banas, Ms. Wolfe, and our 3/4 team for organizing such an outstanding event. Additionally, thank you to our fabulous PTA for planning a “Family Night” this past Monday. The gym was packed with families laughing and spending quality time together.
I also wanted to remind you that our parent/teacher conferences will be held much earlier this year. When we return to school on January 3rd , you will be receiving your invite for student-led conferences. Conferences will be held on January 12th and 13th, and we know our students will do an amazing job sharing out what they have learned so far this year.
From all of us at Blackwell School, we wish you a blessed holiday season!
Warm regards,
Brad Carter
Principal
Blackwell School
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Happy holidays! As a Blackwell staff, we have decided to support the “Food for Families” project we have done for the past several years. For those of you that are new to the Blackwell Community, we are asking that in lieu of gifts for staff members, please consider making a donation to this project. We have many families that utilize local food pantries and so this year we are asking for donations which can be used to purchase food. So as to not restrict where we can shop as a result of having specific gift cards, we are asking for cash/ check only. With this money, we will host our own Food Pantry in February where we will have non-perishable foods as well as fresh fruit, vegetables, and meats.
If you make a donation to the Food for Families project, your child can give their teacher a card that acknowledges your contribution: “A gift to the Blackwell Food for Pantry Project has been given in: (teacher’s name)”. Cards/ envelopes will go home in each family folder soon; more cards will be available in the office.
If you would like to contribute, please send your check
(made payable to Blackwell School) or cash to the Main Office by December 16, 2011. Please mark the envelope: “Holiday Food for Families“.
We appreciate your consideration in this matter. As always, if you have any questions, please feel free to contact Meg Kwak (847.357.5534) or Mary Brodie (847.357.2007).
