Our Blackwell family is officially complete! We were so excited to welcome our kindergarten Bobcats on Monday! Our students have been working hard to learn routines, expectations, and are ready to continue diving into instruction! We are proud of everyone for putting forth their best effort with MAP testing. Pizza Tuesdays are Back!
We will be continuing to partner with Papa John’s Pizza to provide cheese pizza for students. Ordering is only available online through your Parent Portal account. Online orders for September through December are due by Monday, September 7th at 11pm.

Dismissal
Thank you for helping us ensure that all students get home safely each day! If there are any changes to your child’s regular dismissal plan, please be sure to notify the office by 2pm each day. This includes changes to bus transportation, KASPER, walking, parent pick-up, or any other dismissal arrangements. Keeping the office informed helps us make sure every student is where they need to be at the end of the day. We appreciate your partnership in keeping dismissal safe and smooth for everyone!
Fall MAP Assessments
We are finalizing fall MAP testing for students in 1st through 6th grade and look forward to testing our kindergarten students in 2 weeks. Thank you for ensuring your children get a good night of sleep, eat a nourishing breakfast and arrive to school on time so they can do their best! Our kinders will test math on Tuesday, September 8th and reading on Wednesday, September 9th.

We are all so excited to be apart of an amazing PTA and we look forward to connecting with you all throughout the year!

Our first PTA meeting is set for September 9th at 5:30pm in the teacher’s lounge! Hope you can join us! Kids are welcome and light snacks will be available.
Want to volunteer? Our first Treat Day is September 11th and we need great parents like you to help us pass out treats to the kids! No experience required! Show up at 11am, sign in to the kiosk, say hello to our wonderful office ladies and meet in the gym for fun and shenanigans!! Cool treats not your jam? Join us for Hot Lunch 17th same time, just meet in the office!

Run to Read
Join the District 54 Education Foundation and School District 54 at the 22nd annual Run to Read on Sunday, September 20, 2026 at Dirksen School. This event will include a 5K run/walk, a 1-mile walk and children’s races. All proceeds will support financially struggling District 54 families. Register for the 2026 Run to Read by August 28 to get early bird pricing.
Multicultural Parent Advisory Council
You are invited to join us at the Schaumburg District 54 Professional Learning Center (522 E. Schaumburg Rd. - DOOR C1) from 5:00-6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 16 as District 54's Multicultural Parent Advisory Council presents a session for parents on “The Key to Success for English Learners in District 54." During the meeting we will review how English Learners are identified in District 54 and discuss the information that ACCESS scores provide regarding your student's learning. We will also share tips for creating a partnership with your students’ teachers, review the Evidence Based Funding in District 54, and explain how support is provided for multilingual learners. Interpreters will be available.
