Dear Blackwell Families,

What a wonderful week at Blackwell! A special congratulations goes out to our 6th graders who participated in the meet at Addams Junior High. They represented our school with pride, effort, and great sportsmanship while having a blast competing! As we look to next week, we are excited to gather for our very first Student of the Month assembly of the school year to recognize and celebrate our students' achievements, positive choices, and growth.

Wishing all of our families a wonderful weekend!

Trunk or Treat

Mark your calendars for Wednesday, October 28th from 5:00-6:00pm. Join us for a night of costumes, fun and trunk or treating in the Blackwell parking lot. This event is for all Blackwell students and parents. No pets are allowed at this event.  If you would like to participate by decorating your car/trunk or donating candy, see the information below.

Trunk or Treating Vehicle Sign Up: Decorate the trunk of your vehicles in Halloween-themed decor and pass out candy or other goodies to our Blackwell community. Please sign up by Friday, October 23rd using the link. Sign Up Link: https://www.parentsquare.com/feeds/88916876

Candy Donations:  Last year we were able to supply all participating vehicles with 500 pieces of candy from our very successful candy donation competition. We hope our candy drive will be able to supply all the candy for this event, but we may ask you to supply your own candy if needed. Get ready for a sweet competition! To help make our Trunk or Treat event a spooky success, we’re kicking off a School-Wide Candy Donation Contest September 28th through October 26th. We are trying to collect over 15,000 pieces of candy to supply all the vehicles!

How it Works:

  •  Each class will collect sealed, unopened bags of candy to donate for our Trunk or Treat celebration. Make sure each donation has your child’s teacher’s name and the total number of pieces clearly labeled on the bag, so we can track it and count the number of pieces.

  • The TOP TWO classes that bring in the most pieces of candy will win an EXTRA PE CLASS "Zombie Tag" during October 26th-30th with Mr. Navas!

  •  Let’s show our school spirit, help make Trunk or Treat amazing, and win that extra PE time! Let the candy collecting begin!

Personal Assessment of Core Competency (PACC)

In District 54, we are dedicated to supporting the academic and social-emotional growth of every student. Your perspective as a parent or guardian plays a vital role in helping us build a complete understanding of your student’s strengths and areas for growth. To gather your valuable input, families of students in grades K–8 will receive an email on Monday, September 28, containing a unique link to complete the District 54 Personal Assessment of Core Competency for your student(s). The survey will be open through Friday, October 16. We sincerely appreciate your participation, as strong collaboration between home and school is essential in supporting your student's overall well-being.
