Blackwell PTA

Hi! I’m Beth Corey-Green, Blackwell PTA President. I have two kids at Blackwell, and I’m in my fourth fantastic year on the Parent/Teacher Association (PTA). The mission of the PTA is to make every child’s potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children. We do this in many ways: Hot Lunch Thursdays, Treat Day Fridays, book fairs, class parties, community Dine and Shares, spirit wear, 6th Grade Celebration, the End of the Year picnic and more! 

We cannot do these events without the support of our community. Membership to our PTA is $10 for an individual or $18 for a two person membership. With your support, we can bring more opportunities to our students. 

Thank you to our volunteers who helped out this week handing out pizza on Tuesday and our first hot lunch yesterday!! We cannot operate the PTA without your help! 

Come volunteer for our next Treat Day – no prior experience needed! Please reach out to let us know you will be able to volunteer. 

• You would need to arrive at 11:00, check in with the office and head to the gym! You will be done around 12:30-12:45.

Classroom Parties

We are so excited to share some updates about the Room Representative volunteer opportunities for this school year! There are a few fun changes this year — Blackwell will be hosting two school-wide classroom parties:

• Halloween Party – Friday, October 31st

• Fling into Spring Party – Friday, March 20th

Both events will take place during the school day and will be a wonderful opportunity for our students to celebrate and make lasting memories together! We’ll send out more details as the dates get closer.

The Sign Up Genius for the Halloween Party will be available in the next few weeks. If you’re interested in helping out, keep an eye out for the sign-up link!  Spots will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, so be sure to grab one when the sign-up goes live! We’re excited to welcome volunteers, but just a quick heads-up—only those who sign up in advance can help at the parties. And if you miss out, no worries as there will be plenty of other fun ways to get involved throughout the year, like Pizza Day, Hot Lunch, Treat Day, and more!

• October 8 – MOD Pizza – 1731 Golf Road – All Day

• November 12 – Chipotle – Barrington and Schaumburg location from 4-8

• December 16 – Lou Malnati’s on Roselle and Schaumburg  – All Day
