Trunk or Treat
Mark your calendars for Wednesday, October 29th from 5:00-6:00pm. Join us for a night of costumes, fun and trunk or treating in the Blackwell parking lot. This event is for all Blackwell students and parents.
Get ready for a sweet competition!
To help make our Trunk or Treat event a spooky success, we’re kicking off a School-Wide Candy Donation Contest October 14th through October 20th.
How it works:
Each class will collect sealed, unopened bags of candy to donate for our Trunk or Treat celebration. Make sure each donation has your child’s teacher’s name clearly labeled on the bag so we can track it and count the number of pieces.
If you signed up for as a Vehicle “Trunk” to pass out candy your student will receive “600 pieces of candy” towards their class total. If you have multiple students, we will divide them evenly between their homerooms. If you have donated candy already, we will add that total towards your student’s homeroom total.
The TOP TWO classes that bring in the most candy pieces will win an EXTRA PE CLASS “Zombie Tag” during the week of Halloween with Mr. Navas!
Let’s show our school spirit, help make Trunk or Treat amazing, and win that extra PE time! Let the candy collecting begin!
Halloween Celebrations
On Friday, Oct. 31st, we will be celebrating Halloween beginning with a parade outside at 1:30pm. The parade will be weather permitting and will be canceled if it cannot be held outside. Families are invited to come watch the parade as we walk down continental and around the Blackwell parking lot.
In choosing an appropriate costume for your child to wear at school, please adhere to the following guidelines:
Veteran’s Day
It is tradition to celebrate Veteran’s Day (Tuesday, November 11th) at Blackwell. Leading up to Veteran’s Day, students will participate in singing patriotic songs and learning important details about why we honor this day. On Veteran’s Day students will be participating in activities and watching a slideshow to honor and thank all the veterans related to Blackwell students and staff.
